In
order for Caves to review the publishing potential of
your book, please include the following items:
|
I.
Introduction to the materials:
|
¡´Overview
: Briefly
describe the theory behind your book. We would like
to know the scope, purpose, approach and/or pedagogy
you are aiming for, and the parts of the text which
best exemplify these ideas.
|
¡´Target
audience : Which
level are you aiming at? Which market is your text aimed
at? For example, if your book is directed at young learners,
what age group is it appropriate for and why? Is your
text a standard course book or can it be regarded as
supplementary materials? What skills area is the text
targeting? Is it an integrated skills book, grammar,
listening, writing, reading, etc?

¡´Brief
content and structure :
Describe the parts included in
each unit, including the function, and the intention
of the individual sections.
|
¡´Status
of the work : What
portion of the manuscript is completed? When do you
expect to finish it?
|
|
II.
Table of contents or "scope and sequence"
chart
|
¡´Please
be sure that the table of contents is as detailed as
possible.The overall syllabus including major topics
and subtopics for each chapter, should be described.
You can include this in the form of a "scope and
sequence" chart, if you'd like.
|
III.
Sample units
|
¡´Please
include two or three sample units with your proposal.
The attached sample units should exemplify your approach
and the intended design elements of the book. Please
submit the units you feel are the most inventive. It
is advisable to include units taken from the core of
the text, rather than the opening unit as this will
give us a better idea of your aims.
|

|
¡´Your
resume should be up-to-date, and reflect your educational
background, professional experience, current job, and
a list of previous publications. You can also choose
to download the file "Information about the author"
and complete the form.
|
|
|
The
feasibility of publishing depends on a series of thorough
evaluations by different departments and consultants.
Since it takes 4~5 weeks to complete all the evaluations,
we would like to ask you to be patient and we will inform
you of the outcome as soon as possible.
|
