A follow-up to "Hard Magic" finds the Grimnoir framed by a magical assassin who has made an attempt on the life of President Franklin Roosevelt, an act that renders them fugitives and is complicated by Grimnoir knight Jake Sullivan's perplexing telephonecall from a man he helped to kill.
