SSAT全名Secondary School Admission Test，由美國「中學入學檢測局」SSATB(Secondary School Admission Test Board) 負責命題，主要測量學生在數學、英文及理解能力上的程度，每年皆有約60,000名考生報考，作為資格證明以申請頂尖的私立中學。
要求SSAT檢測的學校，全球有300多所私立中學，其中包括了美國/加拿大與世界各地優良的私立學校，這些學校都將SSAT成績列為入學申請的重要審查資格之一。
SSAT提供三種程度的檢測：低年級（目前就讀3-4年級的考生）、中年級(目前就讀5-7年級的考生)、和高年級（目前就讀8-11年級的考生）。想進入美、加著名私立中學的學生，建議報考SSAT測驗，因為其成績具有相當的指標性。
ISEE
ISEE的全名是"Independent School Entrance Exam"，由Educational Records Bureau (ERB) 為了2到11年級學生，申請全球私立學校所有的評量測驗，用以提供學校一個標準衡量每一個申請者相較於同年級群的閱讀、語文、數理邏輯等能力。
