One spring day, Mole decides it is finally time to leave his cosy den to explore the outside world. On the riverbank, Mole meets the Water Rat, who introduces him to wise Mr. Badger and boastful Mr. Toad. In the company of his friends, Mole's new life is filled with delicious picnics, exciting boat trips, and adventures in the frightening Wild Wood.
